DNS Load Balancing

It is a good practise to have multiple IP to a host for the purpose of providing redundancy and load balancing. However less then 5% of the host have more then 1 IP address. Of the 5%, here is the summary by number of IP per host:

  • 2 IPs - 35%
  • 3 IPs - 15%
  • 8 IPs - 14%
  • 18 IPs - 6%
