Web Project : Basilica di Santa Croce (c.1695), Lecce, Puglia, Italy


Basilica di Santa Croce, or the Church of the Holy Cross, is a Baroque church located in Lecce. During World War 2, south of Italy was used as a staging ground by Allied Force for offensive into German held position. Locals built a brick facing buttress structured to protect the monument from war damage.
