Show Desktop icon missing in Quick Launch
The following describes how to re-create the Show Desktop icon on the Quick Launch toolbar. You may want to use this method if the Show Desktop icon has been deleted.
To re-create the Show Desktop icon on the Quick Launch toolbar, follow these steps: Use notepad and create the file name "Show Desktop.scf" on your desktop. Add the following contents to this file.
[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop
Then drag and (move) drop this into the Quick Launch Area. You much use the move command so that the script can be inserted directly into the quick launch toolbar.
What if the Quick Launch is missing?
Right click on the task bar, select "Toolbars" and check on "Quick Launch".
What if I get the message ""Cannot Create Toolbar"?
Ok, then the toolbar may have be damaged.
Click on Start button and type IE4UINIT.EXE then click Ok.
The above command creates the Quick Launch folder automatically, if it is missing in the above location. Now, try to enable the Quick Launch bar. If the same error occurs, it’s caused by another issue which is probably due to anomaly in an earlier malware removal procedure - in this case, you probably need to Ask Bill for help.
