Notebook Vista Accessing Internet via Nokia E51
We have assumed that the Bluetooth Modem has been successfully setup and that you are able to transfer files between your Nokia E51 and PC.
Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network Connections
Dialup Number: *99#
User ID: 65
Password: user123
When dialling if you get the message "registering your computer on the network", the 3G symbol on the E51 flashes, then after a while I get the following error:
TCP / IP CP reported error 736: The remote computer terminated the control protocol.
This error is caused by the missing Access point name (APN).
For M1Broadband, it is "sunsurf"
To set this up, you need to go to Settings > Control Panel and look for Phone and Modem Options icon and then select the Modems tab. Highlight Bluetooth Modem and click on Properties.
On Windows Vista, you have to click "Change settings" to allow changes to be made.
Click on the Advanced tab. In the Extra initialization commands field, enter
at+cgdcont=1,"IP","sunsurf"
where sunsurf is the APN and press OK.
On successful connection, we can have the followwing network connection details:

IPv4 IP Address: 116.197.225.49

This is about 10MB for about 2 hours of work over the internet. If you are not on a Data Plan or even if you have a Unlimited Data Plan but currently Roaming, it would have be very costly.
In Dubai, the current rate is AED10 per MB, it would have costed about AED100 or approximately USD28 for this 2 hours session.
In Singapore, the current rate is SGD10.70 per MB, it would have costed about SGD100 or approximately USD70 for this 2 hours session. More about Singapore Telco that is providing data services - click here.
If you are a subscriber of Orange UK but currently roaming, their rates is GBP 8 (Pounds) per MB. It would have work out to be about GBP 80 or approximately USD160 for this 2 hours session - Phew!
