Dear Sir Madam:
I have been trying to get an update on my AVG 7 many times and each time it comes back with the message that connection failed and to check my internet connection setting. It is getting frustrating to the point where I am about to give up using AVG

I have the same update problem with AVG, but there is no URL tab in my Update Manager settings to allow typing in the suggested alteration above.

I got the message that my "Update Control File" is missing. What do I do to get it back?

sir madam i got problem on "internet connection has failed" when i try to update my avg. i go to UPDATE MANAGER select "Settings" then select the "URL" tab and edit the server and URL info to the following: Server: www.grisoft.cz URL: http: www.grisoft.cz softw 70 update and i Click "OK" and then "update". but still not working THE SAME ERR MSG will display. then next I check the firewall and set allowing avginet.exe and avgcc.exe to connect BUT still not working when i click update the SAME ERROR "internet connection has failed ....". WHATS THE NEXT SOLUTION OF this problem i encounter. please help. I almost want to use another anti virus of this problem i got now. thank you Hope this helps...please respond!!! Try uninstalling the AVG software and reinstall it again.

The "Server: www.grisoft.cz" and "URL: http: www.grisoft.cz softw 70 update" worked a charm, and it now updates smoothly from the web.

i m suffering form same problem using avg free version ... in which update path cant be set .... can any body tell me what to do with this connection failing problem

Hi, try uninstalling the software and then restart your computer. Download the latest AVG AV Software, and then reinstall the software again.

In UPDATE MANAGER select "Settings" then select the "URL" tab and edit the server and URL info to the following:

Server: www.grisoft.cz

URL: http://www.grisoft.cz/softw/70/update

Click "OK" and then "update"
