Small Round Structured Virus (SRSV)
Gastric flu is a stomach upset that causes sickness mostly vomiting with some diarrhoea. It is caused by a virus, technically named the Norwalk-like-virus or Small Round Structured Virus (SRSV) also known as the “Winter Vomiting Bug”. The vomiting often starts very suddenly. The sickness lasts for six to 18 hours and many cases are well enough to go ahead with planned activities after a few hours.
