Download Stinger.exe (this will link to mcafee site).

Stinger is a small (about 800kb, that can easily copied into a floppy) stand-alone utility for all version of Microsoft Windows. It is a fast and quick way to detect and remove specific viruses.

It is not a substitute for full anti-virus protection, but rather a tool to assist administrators and users when dealing with an infected system. Stinger utilizes next generation scan engine technology, including process scanning, digitally signed DAT files, and scan performance optimizations.

This is a "Spyware" infection. You visited one of the infected sites without knowing it. Best cure is to download the newest SpyWare Adaware program from www.lavasoft.com in Sweden. There is free version and it will eliminate that. But most importantly you have to remove all the backupfiles from yor "Restore". after that and after cleaning it, get a new Restore opertaion. To remove all old Restores click on My Computer and then on the Retsoration Tab and then remove Restore option. Do the opposite after your computer is cleaned.

I have Mcafee firewall, Anti-Spyware Microsoft, Hijackthis,Shedder. But I still have a browser problem. A new browser pops up over my normal browser, I have to X out of that browser, to continue with whatever I am doing. The new browser will not take you anywhere, but in the address bar is a nasty address. Thanks for any help. OWL

Yes...the best bet is to download the FREE TO USE AntiVirus from http: HouseCall.AntiVirus.Com
It is NOT A RESIDENT program and works only during the same session you are using it and is nota substitute for an antivirus program (resident in your computer).
The problem you have is similar to what I had also when I had a slow processor and not enough memory. If the HousecAll does not help, then look at the programs you have and remove from the STARTUP all that you do not need. Do that by clicking on Start then on Run and thenin the box write MSCONFIG and then clcik on enter and select START-UP on the top and remove the check mark from all that you do not want then OK and then restart your computer.
By the way, HouseCall is the only ANtiVirus I know of that is updated hourly.

My cursor just runs about here and there all the time. I have checked the mouse it is working fine. It must be because of some virus, that my AVG antivirus could not detect. Can anyone help me in this regard.

Quick Update: June 2007

Currently this scans for 187 ´specific´ problems, and does not have an update option of any type.
Yes, it is a PC only thing, but against virus, aint we all on the same side? ;)

Covers mostly BACKDOOR, EXPLOIT, IRC, PWS, and a HUGE list of the W32 viruses (and does 1 ROOKIT virus too) :)

If it finds nothing, it just finishes, and says how many files it scanned. Hopefully it has the inteligence to scan ´locked´ files too - many do not tho :(

MAC-NET .COM
If you hold your cursor over the MAC-NET.COM logo, it tells you it is for MAChine NETwork
