Starteak.exe
Question: I have noticed ´starteak.exe´ showing in my Task Manager, under the Tab "process" header. I am a bit concerned and so I want to know what this ´StarTeak´ does and how to remove the ´starteak.exe´ from my computer ? Also I want to know whether it is a system process or user process and Is it because of some error in any program exe, virus or worm? Please tell me how this file starteak.exe showed up and do I need to remove this file ? And is Removal process easy?
Answer: ´StartEAK´ is installed on mainly HP Compaq workstations. It allows the configuration of the Compaq Multimedia Keyboard´s one-touch keys. When running it enables the multimedia buttons present on compaq keyboards (such as volume control, sleep etc). If this process is not running your computer will use the default keyboard driver, All of the 'Normal' keys will still work but the multimedia keys will do nothing. This program is a non-essential system process, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems.
Starteak.exe is related to bttnserv.exe, eabservr.exe, eausbkbd.exe, cpqeadm.exe, cpqinet.exe, hkss.exe.
